The Youth Staff is made up of adults that work in Student Ministries here at HFC.  Check them out and send them an email if you have a question.

Pastor Chad Penner

Chad is our full-time youth pastor.  His wife’s name is Jen.  Chad likes hanging out with teens.  He played basketball at Southern Nazarene University, where he also played in a band and sang in a school group.  His son’s name is Sean and his dog’s name is Buster.  His favorite team is the Kansas Jayhawks.

Jen Penner

 Jen is Chad’s awesome wife.  She helps with everything in Student Ministries and is really cool.  She is from Colorado, home of Rough Terrain Ahead, and loves to play in snow.  Jen played volleyball at Southern Nazarene University.  Her favorite team is Colorado Avalanche hockey.

Lonnie Cox 

Lonnie is a construction animal.  If something breaks or needs done he can do it.  Lonnie and his wife Sue lead the Middle School Area Small Group held at the Anderson home.  Lonnie has ran in a few marathon’s and loves spending time with his family.

Sue Cox

Sue works at Bush Intercontinental Airport and has many hobbies.  She helps lead the Middle School Area Small Group held at the Anderson home with her husband Lonnie.  Sue enjoys cooking on trips and being with family.  She also runs with Lonnie.  Anyone who runs a marathon must be a little crazy.

Robyn Cummings

Robyn is our Nazarene Youth International president.  She works at HP/Compaq and is the shortest member of the Youth Staff.  Robyn is crazy about technology and runs video presentations at HFC.  She almost always has a camera in her hand so watch out.  Robyn loves hanging out with students, but especially Middle School students.

Farid Hadaegh 

Farid is our crazy man who designs and builds off-shore oil platforms.  Farid grew up in a Muslim home and became aChristian a few years ago.  Having grown up in Iran he has many wild stories he loves to share.  He also loves to fish, so we never really know how much truth is in his stories.

 Theresa Hadaegh 

Theresa is a full time student at the University of Houston.  She has been an Area Small Group leader with her husband Farid and currently enjoys helping out wherever she is needed.  She is an RTA mentor and loves to chat via myspace, text messaging and in person.

Becky Larabee

Becky is married to Don and they ride motorcycles everywhere they go, rain or shine.  If it snowed here they would ride them in the snow.  Becky has given students rides to church for years.  If you want to come but don’t have a ride, she may be your ticket.

Don Larbee

Don is the man with the plan, that is, while riding a motorcycle.  Put on your helmet and take a ride is his plan.  Don rides motorcycle trips all over the country with his wife Becky.  Don enjoys going on mission trips and other activities.  Want a crazy motorcycle story, he’s got it for you.  He also has given rides to students for many years and might be able to help you with a ride.

Melissa Meekes

Melissa helps lead and host an Area Small Group with her husband Randy at their home.  She is a cool mom to two of our students but we won’t say their names and embarrass them.  She is really cool and would love to help you enjoy life as a Christian in Middle School.

Randy Meekes

Randy is a construction supervisor.  He is married to Melissa and loves to ride dirt bikes in his spare time.  Randy leads the Middle School Area Small Group with his wife Melissa.  He’s one cool dad who can play the drums.

Cindy Vandervort

Cindy is a registered dietitian and loves to spend time with her two boys and husband Kurt.  She helps us keep track of guests and regular students at events and is part of our Area Small Groups.  Cindy is a great friend to girls especially and enjoys having girl all-nighters with makeover parties.  They have a pool.

Kurt Vandervort

Kurt is an engineer and smarter than most anyone you will ever meet.  Kurt loves to make things out of wood in his workshop and directs Rough Terrain Ahead, a program for students finishing their Sophomore year of high school and older.  RTA includes a backpacking trip to Colorado each summer.  He’s a great guy to get to know.

Kathy Whitney

Kathy helps her husband Steve teach High School Bible Study and loves to have students over to her house for parties and to hang out.  She is the funniest nurse you’ll ever know and loves anything having to do with Michigan.  Kathy also helps keep track of attendance and guest registration.  They have a pool.

Steve Whitney

Steve is a geophysicist for Conoco/Phillips and teaches our High School Bible Study with his wife Kathy.  Steve’s favorite thing to do is backpack all over the country.  He loves all the sports teams from Michigan too.  They have a couple dogs and love to party.  Steve used to have a pony-tail, have to be crazy for that.  He also teaches Parenting seminars at the church to help your parents do a better job being your parents.
